Donburi Japanese BBQ

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 250g Beef thin cuts 
  • 2 bowls of cooked rice
  • 1 tsp garlic paste 
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp honey 
  • ½ tbsp sesame oil 
  • ½ tbsp Mirin
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • Cucumber, sliced (Optional) 
  • 10g spring onions, chopped

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  1. In a small bowl, mix 1 tsp of garlic paste, 1 tsp ginger paste, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp honey, 1/2 tbsp of sesame oil, 1/2 tbsp mirin, 1 tsp chilli powder and 1/2 tsp black pepper and mix well.
  2. In a pan, add some oil and wait till the pan is hot and then add the beef thin cuts add a little oil before adding the meat. Fry until browned.
  3. Once browned, add the bowl of sauce that you made in step one and fry for 1 minute 30 seconds.
  4. Prepare 2 large bowls with your desired amount of rice.
  5. Turn off the heat and put the meat on top of the bowls of rice. 
  6. Top it with sliced cucumber and spring onions. Serve while it’s hot.
